Apocalypse Now?

With little time remaining in the last year of the millennium, the Year 2000 problem looms, tempest-like, over the entire IT landscape. KG Systems is conducting full-cycle Year 2000 remediation for USPS to make sure neither rain, nor sleet, nor Y2K prevents delivery of the nation's mail. Projects include:

  • Year 2000 Testing for mission-critical Mail Processing Equipment, to be completed in full by June 1999:

    • Flats Sorting Machine 881

    • Flats Sorting Machine 1000

    • Flat Mail Optical Character Reader

    • AFCS/ISS Data Collection System

    • Small Parcel Bundle Sorter

    • Letter Mail Labeling System

  • Comprehensive Emergency Action Procedures to be completed by June 1999 for all of the above critical Mail Processing Equipment, as well as:

    • Mail Cartridge System

    • Forwarding Computer System

    • Flat Bundle Collater

    • MLOCR BCS Integrated Buffer System

    • Multi-Position Letter Sorting Machine

    • Facer/Canceler Letter System

    • M15 Flat Canceler
